Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her independent single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Later in the calendar, her songs was played all over Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. She made an appearance on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later she released the song as a solo single to the album she released her debut. This track, which was launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December 2018 she performed on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
